The conference will be held at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway) in the west of Ireland. Talks and registration will be held in the Information Technology building as shown on the maps at the end of this page.

Most international airlines fly to Dublin or Shannon, from where you can travel by bus or car to Galway (or by train from Dublin City). Alternatively, you can fly to any of the airports with connecting flights to the smaller Galway Airport, more details are given below.

Aer Arann and Manx2 fly to Galway Airport from a number of airports in the UK and from Dublin, Ireland. Aer Arann fly to and from Edinburgh, Manchester, London Luton, Lorient and Dublin. Manx2 fly to Galway Airport from Cork and Belfast. You can book flights through their sites: aerarann.com and manx2.com. The airport is 6 kms from the city.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus offer the widest choice of services into and out of Shannon. You can visit their sites at aerlingus.com and ryanair.com.

Shannon to Galway by Bus

The travel time from Shannon Airport to Galway is approximately 1h20m. Bus fare is between €15 and €20 return with City Link or Bus Éireann.

Shannon to Galway by Car

Shannon Airport is 55 miles (89 kms) from Galway. You can rent a car from Shannon Airport.

The next nearest airport to Galway after Shannon is Knock International Airport in County Mayo. It is about 1h35m from Galway City by road. There are less flights on offer to Knock, but Ryanair does offer regular services from the UK.

Again, Aer Lingus or Ryanair operate many flights to Dublin. For travel by air onwards to Galway, you can proceed to the Transfer Desk for further instructions.

Dublin to Galway by Air

Aer Arann offer regular daily flights from Dublin to Galway Airport.

Dublin to Galway by Train

For travel to Galway by train, take a bus to Heuston Railway Station. Train prices are around €35 return (€30 one way). You can view the latest Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) timetables at their website.

Dublin to Galway by Bus

Bus Éireann runs an hourly bus service between Dublin and Galway. City Link and Go Bus both offer bus services from Dublin's city centre and also direct from Dublin Airport to Galway.

Dublin to Galway by Road

The main approach roads are shown on the maps at the end of this page. Dublin is 125 miles (200 kms) from Galway by motorway, and this takes about 1h40m. Again, you can rent a car from Dublin Airport.
